Panromantic is the orientation of being romantically attracted to people of all genders, or regardless of gender.[1]

Panromantic people may also be pansexual or they may have a different orientation sexually.

There are several different pride flags that may be used to symbolize being panromantic. Some panromantic people simply use the pansexual flag to also represent their panromantic identity. Other flags made specifically to represent panromantic people are shown below.

History[edit]

"Panromantic" as an orientation term seems to have arisen in the 2000s.[2] Earlier usage of the word "panromantic" does exist, but referring to the Romantic movement or the Romance languages rather than a person's romantic orientation.

Panromantic characters in fiction[edit]

  • In the animated series Far-Fetched, Quinn Huckley is demisexual and panromantic.[3][4]
  • In the dating sim Repurpose (to be released June 2022), Noel is genderfluid, asexual, and panromantic.[5]
  • In the science fiction podcast series The Bright Sessions, Chloe Turner is a panromantic asexual.[6][7]
